Different Ways to Install Pion
Single Physical Server
For websites that are hosted entirely on one physical server, it's often easiest to just install Pion on the same server. Pion runs as a lightweight background process that uses a minimal amount of CPU and as little as 10MB memory to passively capture your web traffic.
Virtual and Cloud Servers
Pion supports all major virtualization platforms including VMWare and Xen, as well as cloud services providers such as Amazon and Azure. If your site traffic is distributed across multiple physical or virtual web servers, you can install Pion on its own dedicated server with
some basic setup help from your IT staff. One Pion server can passively capture traffic for dozens of web servers. We also offer
network appliances for a plug-and-play experience.
